The mission of EHPEA is to achieve and safeguard the sustainable competitive position of the Ethiopian Export Horticulture sector within the global market.

MAJOR OBJECTIVES OF EHPEA

• Representing the interest of the sector in the international market place and at government level within Ethiopia

• Initiating and participating in projects designed to expand the size and scope of the sector and to build capacity in the sector.

• Lobbying the government and other concerned stakeholders regarding policy, regulatory and other issues

• Launching capacity building programs including training in collaboration with partners

• Helping to build business linkages with potential investors,producers and buyers.

• Establishing cooperation with various trade support organizations both locally and internationally

• Organizing trade fairs at national and international level

• Ensuring product quality to meet international standards

• Implementing an industry devised Code of Practice to encourage Good Agricultural Practice, the Protection of the Enviroment and Corporate Social Responsiblity in all export horticultue and floriculture farms in the Country.

• Venturing into international markets that are viable.
